Beach Style interiors are perfect in bringing the peace of the tropics right into your home. Here's a basic guide in creating this style.

Summer is near and pictures of the sea paint an ideal place for serenity, making one wish to have the shores just a few minutes walk from the front yard door. For the rest of us living in the metro, there are ways to bring this idyllic scene right into our very homes.

What is Beach Style? From the word itself, it is simply bringing in the elements of the ocean or the sea right into your interior space. The idea is to make beautiful and wide open spaces that look natural, without being too contrived.

How to Choose Colors for Beach Style Interior

Close your eyes and picture that last vacation you had by the sea. What can you see? Picture the ripples of water washing to the shore, or that golden sand beneath your feet. See the contrast between the water and sky. Here are a list of colors of the Beach Style palette that you can choose and combine:

Tints of Blue

The Beach Style Interior focuses on the colors of the sea on a fine day and this means choosing a lighter tone of blue. Stick to pastels and powder blue. Your local paint shop will have a variety of swatches that you can choose from.

Pure White

There are many varieties of white and some have an antique look on them. Choose the whitest of them all and if you are going to buy a can of paint, choose flat colors or those without a gloss - to bring out that rustic seaside feel.

Sand

This part can be tricky as sand changes color, depending on how light or water washes over it. The true color of sand is more than beige and less than gray. Choose tan to be safe. You may bring with you a small bag of sand to compare with the paint color the shop have.

How to Choose Furniture for Beach Style Interior

Think Breezy. This will guide you in selecting a comfortable furniture where you can sit or take a nap. Wicker furniture is ideal and it can even be over-sized. Stay away from dark wood since it gives a formal feel, which is not in line with the theme.

How to Choose Accents for Beach Style Interior

This is the fun part of decorating in Beach Style for your home. Everything is focused on being light - from fabrics, accessories, and even the floor. Sheer is the way to go when using curtains. Adding bamboo and palm motifs will make for that tropical appeal. Most important, use decors with sea life motif like fishes, sea shells, starfish, pearls and corals. You may even hang prints depicting the sea or framed photos of your recent summer getaway.

Remember to keep it simple, wispy and light. The Beach Themed Bedroom is also great for romantic evenings. You may not have that perfect tropical paradise in your home, but it gives you that charming place for relaxation.
