» CaptnMorgan - Need help on installling new door hardware

I have new kitchen cabinets, and we finally decided on and purchased hardware for the doors.

We're going with a T-style knob on the doors. The knob had a square shaped "stem" and had a locator type pin above the screw hole. The pin is not pointy, and it's intent is to press into the door and prevent the knob from spinning.

Very clever, but I'm not. How do I accommodate this pin? Do I need to drill a tiny hole for this pin? I don't know if I have a bit small enough, and I obviously don't want one that's bigger in any extent.

I saw some other ones that had sharp pins where this one is, and I see how you could tap those into the wood, but mine are flat!?

Thanks for the assistance, in advance!

I'm afraid I can't be of much assistance here. I'm having a hard time picturing the hardware you're describing and I'm assuming there wasnt an illustration or instruction with it.

I would guess that drilling a small hole would be very useful...or perhaps giving it a tap with a rubber mallet might bury it into your cabinet door...

If anyone else has any suggestions please pass them along

Thanks,
Kristin
